Today we got the 2nd Jets drop. It’s a throwback to the 1965-77 helmet and was worn in 2024.
The Jets have worn five different versions of this helmet. The 2024 throwback has a different color than the actual helmet the Jets wore in 1965-77. I’ll compare the new speed limited helmet to the 2-bar pocket helmet when the speed helmet arrives in the mail.

Interesting. So I guess this confirms that the Jets will probably wear the throwback helmet again this season and it wasn’t a one-off occurrence last year. They were one of several teams that didn’t release a uniform schedule for this season, so all they’ve revealed so far is the date they’ll wear the Rivalries uniform in December and leaving us to guess what they’ll wear for most of the other weeks. : )

That is a good question. I am not sure if it confirms the Jets will wear this helmet this year. I feel like Riddell could be “cleaning out” the 2024 helmets before moving on. The manufacture date on the limited edition helmets for 2025 are 09/2024. I haven’t seen a specific announcement from the Jets, but who knows?

I guess we are getting more from last year with the hope from some last worn in 2023 ? 🤞 Not much wiggle room if they were including the alts introduced for this season if they are including all 7!

My preference would be if they focused on some of the new 2025 helmets, but maybe they could use 2026 to release some old forgotten ones, call it something like “From The Vault”. I definitely feel the Rams navy blue/bright gold horns deserves a release in the Speed style. If I recall, they wore that 18 times between 2016 and 2019, including in Super Bowl LIII. Same with helmets such as the Color Rush Giants, Falcons and Broncos helmets that were frequently worn up until 2022, plus of course the standing bison Bills helmet. Hopefully that one will be in the pipeline for 2025 anyway since the Bills decided to revive wearing that helmet again this year after a four-year hiatus.
