Vikings

The Vikings have essentially had the same helmet since 1961. The only variations have been the 1) the style of the horn – of which there have been only two – and 2) the facemask color.

Classic horn, 1961-2005
Modern horn, 2006-present
Front row: 1961-79 (grey facemask) and 1980-84 (white facemask)
Row 2: 1985-05 (purple facemask, classic horn), 2006-12 (purple facemask, modern horn)
Row 3: 2013-18 (black facemask, modern horn), 2019-present (black facemask, modern horn, lighter purple)

1961-79: Classic horn, grey facemask: Throwback Series 1, 2-bar, 2-bar 1969

The 1969 2-bar throwback helmet has the Riddell logo in all caps (RIDDELL). The regular Throwback 2-bar helmet has some cursive font (RIDDell). See the Throwback NFC 1969 site for more information. 

1980-84: Classic horn, white facemask: Throwback Series 2

1985-05: Classic horn, purple facemask: Traditional, Chrome

2006-12: Modern horn, purple facemask: Revolution

2013-18: Modern horn, black facemask: Revolution, Speed

2019-present: Modern horn, black facemask, lighter purple

The Vikings changed the purple color of their helmet in 2019. The intent was to be more consistent with the uniform.
