Factory Helmets

Riddell still manufactures pocket pro (or pocket size) helmets. Riddell does not really market the pocket size helmet, especially compared to other collectables. As of January 2024, the Riddell collectables website does not sell pocket size helmets, other than the limited edition helmets.

Still, current helmets can be found at most shopping sites and are easily available. For factory helmets, my preferred vendor is SE Memorabilia. They are fast, affordable, stay on top of their inventory, and have great customer service.

Riddell manufactured throwback helmets for the first time in about 20 years in 2024. These were throwbacks teams actually wore in 2024 and, thus, were in the speed style. Riddell has not manufactured throwbacks from other eras (1960s, for example) in over 20 years. Other styles would be the 2-bar or traditional style.

Custom Helmets

Many custom pocket pros display excellent craftmanship. Prices vary depending on the quality or rarity of the helmet, but they generally are priced between $15 and $50each. Here are some places you can purchase helmets:

One option is to make your own customs. YouTube has some good tutorials. Logos are printed on waterslide decal sheets and cut by hand. For a better and cleaner cut, some collectors use a Cricut machine and make vinyl decals. Recently, collectors have 3-D printed their own helmets.
